MINNER: HOSPITALIZED FOR KIDNEY STONE

Posted: March 23, 2006

Gov. Ruth Ann Minner has been diagnosed with a kidney stone and will need to be hospitalized for the next 24 hours for observation, her physician said.

Gov. Minner began to feel ill Tuesday night and saw her longtime family physician, Dr. Vincent Lobo of Harrington, this morning. Minner was admitted Wednesday to Kent General Hospital, where she was expected to stay through Thursday.

“Kidney stones are a routine medical problem that can affect anyone,” Dr. Lobo said. “Gov. Minner is in good health overall, and I expect her to make a full and speedy recovery.”

Minner is eager to return to work as soon as possible. “I am following the orders of my doctor and hope to be back to my regular schedule very soon,” she said.
