Posted: Nov. 29, 2005

Democrat Robert E. (Bob) Walls announced his candidacy Saturday, Nov. 19, for the 33rd Representative District seat at a gathering with more than 150 family members and friends at his home in Milford.

Also present were U.S. Sen. Thomas R. Carper, Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, Lt. Gov. John C. Carney Jr., Treasurer Jack A. Markell and Insurance Commissioner Matthew P. Denn, along with a number of state legislators and Kent County officials.

Walls, 64, a lifelong resident of the 33rd District, and his wife Bonnie own Walls Irrigation Inc., Walls Farm & Garden Center Inc. and Walls Custom Concrete, all in Milford.

Walls is involved with the Avenue United Methodist Church of Milford, the Milford Elks Lodge and the Temple Lodge A.F. and A.M. #9 of Milford.

Walls said he was running because of his concerns about the current state of the agriculture industry, health care and education. “I want to do my part to face these challenges and give something back to this place, the place that I call home, this state that I love,” he said.
