Dear Chief Justice Veasey:

This morning the Attorney General reminded me of our failure to provide the Court with an advance copy of H.B. 287. I very much regret the fact that I failed to ensure this was done. I am aware of the Attorney General’s policy that she will provide the Court with advance notice of legislation that affects the Court. We did not begin seriously drafting the legislation until June. Somehow, with the crush of business at the end of the legislative session, I neglected to ensure that this important task was attended to. I am truly sorry for any difficulties I may have caused the Court.

Though I assume Your Honor already has a copy of the legislation, I have nonetheless enclosed a copy for your convenience.

Please let me know if I can be of further service to the Court in this matter.

Sincerely,

Steven P. Wood

State Prosecutor
